DevOps Engineer, UK

iProov is looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our growing tech team in London. You will work across a range of functions from ongoing support of established practices, to developing new solutions aligned to product requests, as well as upscaling and remodeling current designs.

iProov is on a mission to make the internet a safer place for businesses and consumers. Our unique facial biometric technology allows banks, governments, healthcare and travel providers to verify customer identity online and provide simple access to secure services.

As a DevOps Engineer you will work to ensure the iProov platform is constantly available. Involving the evaluation of issues and incumbent designs, you will be pivotal in ensuring the infrastructure is robust and aligned to increasing demands.

Being familiar with microservices as well as being well versed with Docker and Kubernetes, you will bring insight and expertise to the architecture & design of iProov’s distributed infrastructure. You will also be expected to pursue remedies and provide improvements to in-house developed code and processes.

The DevOps Engineer is expected to be remote until summer 2021 and will then be based from our London HQ. The DevOps Engineer reports into our Head of Platform.


  • Participate or lead in the design and support of complex infrastructure aligned to evolving requirements.
  • Design, develop, test, optimize and deploy build scripts.
  • Collaborate with wider iProov development teams to integrate and provision solutions.
  • Maintain a constant improvement culture regarding the versatility and scope of the platform functionality.
  • Work with project teams to define objectives and timescales.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of the platform is maintained.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Conversant with Docker development environments and deployments.
  • Kubernetes and Microservice runtime environments.
  • Cloud based infrastructure – AWS, Microsoft, Google.
  • Networking, VPC, Services, and ancillary systems.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Task designation & co-ordination.
  • Scripting / Bash skills are desirable.
  • Pipeline and continuous integration/deployment experience.
  • Operational environment familiarity, change control, compliance, privileged operations.
  • An ability to work autonomously as well as part of a highly skilled, collaborative team environment.
