One of our values at iProov is that we “Work Together”. Every day, we collaborate across functions to make the digital world a safer place. Everyone plays a role in that missionwhether they are technical, operational, or commercial.

But we also like to work together outside of the office and away from laptops, too. Half-marathons, sponsored walks, team-building on a local conservation project… you name it and we’re up for it.

Here are a few highlights from 2021:

1. iProovers start a dodgeball team!

iProov decided to found a casual dodgeball team this year, named WeDodge. They’re currently sitting at number three in the league table. Next up: the semi-finals!

All are welcome to play, regardless of how much dodgeball experience they have. Everyone is really enjoying it by all accounts!

2. The Product & Marketing team save the bugs (the non-technical kind…)

After the lockdowns of 2021, the Product & Marketing team decided it was time to get off Zoom and spend a day together.

The team met in Dulwich Upper Wood, a local nature reserve that offers volunteer days to help maintain the woodland habitats.

The tasks vary according to the season: on this occasion, the team were sanding, sawing, and creating a couple of ‘insect houses’. These houses would serve as the perfect hideaway for all sorts of bugs. A sliding mechanism allows the bugs inside to be easily viewed and counted, allowing visitors to appreciate the ‘genuine presence’ of the bugs without causing them any damage.

Afterwards, the team went for pizzas and a drink or two nearby.

3. iProovers join the Vitality Big Half Marathon

iProovers also took part in the Vitality Big Half Marathon in 2021. The route takes runners through the heart of London, from Tower Bridge all the way to the Cutty Sark.

iProovers Andy, Kendel, and Evgeny all finished the race in under 2 hours, which is nothing short of impressive.

4. Marching along the Jurassic Coast: a sponsored ‘Mighty Hike’

A group of iProovers took part in the Jurassic Coast ‘Mighty Hike’, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

The route spanned 13 miles along the stunning Dorset coast, part of a natural World Heritage Site, passing sights such as Durdle Door.

The charity raised a total of £11m from all of their walks in 2021, which is a remarkable achievement that our team was proud to be part of.

5. Time to unwind: Thames boat trip & rooftop Christmas party

Back in August, iProov arranged for staff to take a trip down the Thames, soaking in the sights of London while enjoying some delicious food and refreshing drinks…oh, and did we mention the boat was made of glass?

This was a great opportunity for the team to socialize and catch up after a prolonged period of remote working.

Later in 2021, our Christmas party was hosted on the rooftop of iProov HQ, which affords a spectacular view of the London skyline. Throughout the night, the woodfire pizza oven blazed and the drinks flowed, while a live band performed.

At one point the head chef stormed through the crowd, wielding a pizza above his head… blindfolded!
