iProov Hiring Journey

We want you to feel confident, supported, and clear throughout every stage of the iProov hiring journey. On average, the process from initial recruiter screen call to final decision can take 4-6 weeks.

How We Hire

Learn more about the specifics of our hiring process, step-by-step, by expanding the accordions below:

We are very thoughtful about the people we hire. Roles differ by nature, and there might be tweaks to your interview process/take-home assignment. We’re committed to building a workforce that is representative of the people we serve.

We will not put someone at a disadvantage or treat them less favourably because of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation. Our goal is to find people who are passionate about creating a safer, more secure world.

Our interview process begins with a 30 minute video or phone call with the recruiter. In this introductory call, your recruiter will provide you with an overview of the role you’re applying to including team structure, key requirements for the role, and explore how your unique skills, experiences and perspectives will contribute to diversity of thought across iProov, positively contributing towards and enhancing our company culture.

They’ll ask questions to explore your motivations, what you’re looking for in your next role, and experience. They’ll also give you an opportunity to ask questions about the role and the Company at this point too. This call is where we verify alignment on mission, values, and compensation. We value transparency from the start, aligning with one of our core values: prizing integrity.

Following this introductory call, the recruiter will let you know if you’re a good match for the role and if you are, they’ll explain what the next steps are and schedule the next stage of our interview process for you.

Your interview will consist of a 30 – 60-minute conversation with the hiring manager. The length of the interview will be confirmed with you in advance by the recruiter.

Your first stage interview will be conducted remotely, via video call, where the hiring manager will explore your experience, skills, requirements of the role, what you enjoy doing, why you’d like to work at iProov etc.

The STARR Method

We recommend using the STARR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result, Reflection) to structure your answers. We focus on this approach because past behavior is a strong indicator of future success. We want to hear about the tangible impact you’ve made in your previous roles, not just day-to-day responsibilities. This helps us understand how you think, problem-solve, and create meaningful outcomes

You may also be asked open-ended questions – what we are looking for here is an analytical approach to critical thinking, and the ability to structure relatively unstructured problems.

Remember to take your time and ask clarifying questions before answering the question and coming to a solution. Doing this will ensure you fully understand the question and have all the relevant information you need.

Following the first stage, if your experience and skills are a good match with the role you’re applying to, we’ll progress you to the second stage of our interview process. This is a great opportunity to meet people from the team and find out more about where we are headed as a company.

You’ll be invited to attend 2 x 30-minute interviews or 1 x 60-minute interview, where you and the interviewer meet face-to-face or over video. Each interview will have defined focus areas relevant to the role, which will be briefed to you by the recruiter.

Depending on the role you’re applying to, we’ll focus on between 3 – 5 key areas in your experience:

  • Achievements – what did you achieve in your last role? How did you achieve it? What did you learn?
  • Role/Technical Expertise – this is mainly about your technical or role-related knowledge.
  • Leadership – how have you guided and influenced a group of people to achieve a common goal?
  • Core Values – this is about your morals and professional standards, and how these govern your approach to things like team working, and the types of attributes that would make you successful in a fast-growing scale-up like ours.
  • Team Management (if applying for a management position) – what is your management style, how do you create high-performing teams, develop team members, distribute workload, and manage performance?

Again, when answering any questions, please use the STARR method to help structure your answers.

Should you have any general questions or specific questions about your focus area, feel free to discuss this with your Recruiter.

Depending on the role, we may also ask you to complete a take home assignment, where you’ll be given a real world business problem you would typically be coming in to address. The recruiter will share details of the assignment along with FAQs.

We’ll give you enough time to complete the assessment or prepare your presentation around the take home assignment. You’ll then discuss your work with the hiring manager and another member of the team. However, if you require more time, please get in touch with the recruiter.

The aim of the take home assignment is to better understand how you would approach a real-world business problem, including your ability to break down a complex problem and present the information in a clear, concise, and structured manner.

If you’re asked to complete a technical assessment, this will be aligned to the key responsibilities of the role you’re applying to. The aim of this assessment is to understand your technical expertise and your creative approach to problem-solving. We typically allow a week to complete the assignment because we know people have busy lives, but the work itself typically takes 2 hours or less to complete.

Interview structure:

  • 5-10 mins: Quick intro
  • 30 mins: Take home assignment presentation/technical assessment and follow up discussion
  • 10 mins: Q&A (the interviewer will be asking you questions based on the task you were given)
  • 10 mins: Any questions from you (can include questions about the team, role, company, culture etc.)
Depending on your location, your final interview will usually be an opportunity to meet with a senior leader of the business. This will typically last between 15 minutes to 30 minutes. The recruiter will confirm exact timings and location.

This conversation is a check-in with senior leadership to assess your strategic fit and long-term potential within iProov’s overall mission. The focus will be on your motivations for joining iProov, how you see yourself contributing to our goals, and ensuring alignment with the direction of the team and business.

Think about questions you would like to ask the senior leader at this stage. Asking relevant questions will demonstrate your interest in the role and provide you with a better idea of what’s expected to be successful in the role.

If you have any questions about this stage, please contact the recruiter.

Things to think about before your interview:

  • Familiarise yourself with the job description – think about how to bring the most relevant aspects of your experience, skills, and qualifications to life.
  • Pick out a few key achievements along with key metrics to help demonstrate the impact you’ve made in previous roles.
  • It’s difficult to remember all the great things you’ve achieved or learned during your career, so if it helps, make notes that you can refer to.
  • We value a growth mindset. Instead of hiding failures, show us your lessons learned. We believe in failing fast, learning quicker, and applying that knowledge to the next attempt.
  • If you’re interviewing remotely, try to find a quiet place with no distractions where you can talk comfortably and where you have a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
  • Research our business so you understand the industry we operate in and our company mission.
  • Look at the interviewer’s LinkedIn to understand their journey into iProov.
